UO KING

UO Healing Skill Guide

Beginner
support

Healing is one of the most essential support skills in Ultima Online for any melee or dexterity-based character. It allows the use of bandages to restore hit points, cure poison, and resurrect allies. Combined with Anatomy, it becomes a powerful tool for solo and group survival.

Healing is a support skill in Ultima Online, rated as Beginner difficulty to train. This guide walks you through everything you need to raise Healing from 0 to grandmaster, including the most efficient training methods, the targets and items to use at each skill range, and the gains you can expect along the way. Whether you are building your first character or optimizing a finished template, the breakdown below will help you train Healing as quickly and cheaply as possible.

Below you will find an overview of what Healing does, a step-by-step training guide, recommended skill ranges, any bonuses Healing provides, and the templates that pair well with it. If you would rather skip the grind, UO King can deliver a ready-made character or the gear you need to support a Healing build on your shard.

Overview

Healing is the bandage-based recovery skill in Ultima Online. By applying clean bandages you can mend your own wounds or those of an ally, cure poison and even resurrect fallen ghosts, all without spending mana. Healing works hand in hand with Anatomy: the two skills together decide how much life each bandage restores, while your Dexterity governs how quickly you can wrap a bandage. Because it costs no reagents or mana, Healing is a staple support skill for warriors, tamers and hybrid templates alike.

Training Guide

Skill gains occur by using bandages to heal damage, cure poison, or resurrect. Best trained alongside Anatomy for efficiency.

Skill Bonuses

Healing has several requirements and quirks worth knowing before you rely on it in the field:

  • You must have at least 61 Anatomy and 61 Healing to cure a poisoned target.
  • You need at least 81 Anatomy and 81 Healing to resurrect another player's ghost.
  • Resurrecting someone carries roughly a 5 second delay, and you can never resurrect yourself.
  • You must remain within about 2 tiles of the person you are treating.
  • Being struck interrupts the bandage; each interruption cuts the amount healed by 35%.
  • Healing another character can only grant karma, never remove it.
Advanced Notes

The amount of life a bandage restores scales with both skills. The minimum healed is roughly Anatomy/6 + Healing/6 + 3, and the maximum is roughly Anatomy/6 + Healing/3 + 10. An interruption happens when a monster hits you for more than 26 damage, or another player hits you for more than 19 damage while you are bandaging. The grid below shows the minimum and maximum points healed for combinations of Anatomy (rows) and Healing (columns).
